Celebrated for their luxuriant sound and deeply expressive performances, the Brentano String Quartet has been a cornerstone of the international chamber music scene for over three decades. Lauded by The New York Times and The Times (London) for their emotive playing and selfless artistry, the Quartet has graced the world’s premier stages across five continents.
Artists in Residence at Yale School of Music and longtime leaders of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Quartet is also known for its educational leadership and innovative projects. Their acclaimed discography includes Beethoven’s Op. 131, featured in the film A Late Quartet, and “Into the Fire” with DiDonato, recorded live at Wigmore Hall. Named after Antonie Brentano, believed by many to be Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved,” the Quartet continues to define excellence in chamber music with both tradition and imagination.
“The glittering clarity of the Brentano’s sound was intoxicating…A revelatory performance” – The Strad
