Formed in 2015 by Artistic Director and violist Luke Fleming, the Manhattan Chamber Players is a collective of New York-based musicians united by a shared passion for performing the great works of the chamber repertoire at the highest level. Its members come from the tradition of the Marlboro Music Festival, Music@Menlo, and the Perlman Music Program, and are alumni of the Curtis Institute, Juilliard, and the New England Conservatory.
Current and former members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and celebrated ensembles including the Dover, Escher, and Attacca Quartets, MCP’s roster of prizewinning musicians brings decades-long friendships and a rare joy of collaboration to every performance. Featured multiple times on NPR’s Performance Today and Ensemble-in-Residence at festivals across the U.S. and abroad, the Players tour widely throughout North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
“All four [MCP members] seemed to light up…. Unrolling in a gorgeous surging melody, they generated a robust sound.” – Strings Magazine
